| A Piece of Mono Lake's Spring-heads
I hauled this piece of calcium-carbonate away from the exposed "tufa towers" on June 19, 1982 while my brand new wife and I traveled across the country on our honey moon. This calcium-carbonate knob formed by the interaction of freshwater springs passing into the alkaline lake water. It is 15.5 inches tall mounted in its plaster base.
